HueFlow launches on Google Play with local backups for Philips Hue automations

For immediate release · October 7, 2026

An independent app keeps rules, automations, rooms and scenes in an encrypted backup on your own phone, and restores them reviewed item by item, even onto a new bridge.

BRAZIL, October 7, 2026 — Sinus launched HueFlow on October 5, an Android app that backs up and restores the setup of Philips Hue homes. The app saves rules, automations, rooms, zones and scenes in an encrypted file on the device itself, with no account and no cloud. HueFlow is free on Google Play.

It is for anyone who has reset or replaced their bridge, or swapped a bulb or a switch, and doesn't want to rebuild their home by hand. It also shows, in a graph, what every switch, dial and sensor actually does.

Why now

Philips Hue still offers no backup for automations. When a bridge fails, the home has to be set up again, piece by piece.

In June 2026, firmware 2071353020 left some Hue Bridge Pro units with a red LED and unresponsive, even after a reset. Signify confirmed fewer than 100 devices were affected, fixed the issue and replaced them free of charge, regardless of warranty. The new bridge, however, arrived empty: lights, accessories, scenes and automations all had to be redone. “A backup feature is missing,” wrote Hueblog.

In September, at IFA, Philips announced an official Backup & Restore, still with no release date. It will store the backup in the Hue Cloud, require an account and restore only onto a Hue Bridge Pro.

What HueFlow does

“People with dozens of lights and switches lose hours rebuilding everything when a bridge fails. I wanted that work to become a backup that stays with the user, with no account and no cloud, and that shows what will change before it changes.”
